Yamaha YDS-150 Digital Saxophone: 4 saxophones in one with Bluetooth connectivity

The Yamaha YDS-150 digital saxophone is not only ready to replace the four main types of saxophones: it is intended to diversify each of them, since it has a total of 73 pre-programmed voices. And if that’s not enough, the musician can add his own variations to them.

The YDS-150 connects to a mobile gadget via Bluetooth, then in the YDS Controller application it will be possible to edit not only voices, but also the reaction of keys, the type of reverberation, and even the resistance to breathing pressure and reaction to it. It is possible to change fingerings, assign shortcuts to ready-made settings, and much more. The YDS-150 may sound like keyboard electronics, although some voices are much more realistic.

The YDS-150 is sized and shaped to match the smallest soprano saxophone. The instrument received a matte black body with mother-of-pearl keys and brass trim on the bell.

The novelty is powered by four AAA batteries located in the container above the thumb rest. It is clear that their discharge can interrupt the performance at the most dramatic moment, but the indication will warn about a low charge in advance.

If there are no fresh batteries, the performance can be continued by connecting power via micro-USB. The saxophone is equipped with a headphone output. Includes a shoulder bag.

In the United States, the Yamaha YDS-150 digital saxophone will cost $ 1,078.
