What is the difference between iPhone 13 and 12?

The iPhone 13 generation just came out and everyone is interested in what Apple has done new. Let’s take a closer look at the new product and compare it with the previous generation.

Design

The design of the smartphone has not changed much. The volume button, power button and SIM card slot have slightly changed their location. The dimensions of the camera have become even larger due to the updated lenses and now the main module protrudes noticeably. The iPhone 13’s bangs have been reduced by 20% thanks to the smaller TrueDepth camera. The colors have not changed much. Last year’s “Pacific Blue” in Pro versions was replaced by pastel sky blue. The new color looks very nice and delicate.

On the basic version, there are fewer colors – we will no longer see green and purple, and the rest of the colors have acquired different shades. The iPhone 13 can be purchased in the following colors:

– Starlight;
– Midnight;
– light blue;
– light pink;
– Red;

Comparison of iPhone cameras

Did you order a 6x optical zoom? And he is already here – in the brand new Pro series. On the basic versions, the digital and optical zoom performance is identical, but the iPhone 13 Pro has digital zoom up to 15 ×, while the 12 Pro has digital zoom up to 12 ×. The new autofocus system allows you to shoot macro video and macro photography at a distance of two centimeters from the subject.

The difference between the cameras of the basic versions of the iPhone 12 and 13 lies in a few cool new chips and improved old ones. The iPhone 13 camera has a Smart HDR 4 mode for photos, which recognizes up to 4 people in the frame and processes each one individually. This mode has become even better at recognizing and processing objects, making pictures very realistic. The smartphone also received improved optical stabilization with a sensor shift.

All new iPhones have a cool “Cinema Effect” mode. Now everyone can feel a little like Quentin Tarantino. You say – a simple change of focus and sharpness. And I will say that this is an opportunity to easily create a masterpiece.

Photo Styles are available on all iPhone 13 cameras. You no longer need filters on Instagram – turn on filters while shooting or apply them later in the Photos app.

IPhone 12 vs 13 battery comparison

The capacity of the 12 Pro MAX was smaller than the 11 iPhones at just 3687 mAh. The new Pro MAX version received 4325 mAh.

The increased battery capacity coupled with an improved energy efficient processor is bringing tangible benefits. In fact, the battery life of the iPhone 13 Pro MAX has increased by 2.5 hours.

The battery capacity of the iPhone 13 has increased by 15% compared to the iPhone 12. The battery life has increased by two hours.

Due to the increased battery, the weight of the devices has become larger.

Advanced processor

IPhone 13 has the most powerful A15 Bionic chip ever. The processor performance has increased by 30% over the previous one. The A14 Bionic performed up to 11 trillion operations per second, while the A15 Bionic performed up to 15.8 trillion.

The new Pro versions get a 5-core GPU that processes graphics twice as fast as the previous one. New graphics and performance power make the iPhone 13 Pro MAX the perfect device for gamers.

Screen comparison

The display on the new generation of the iPhone has received several cool changes:

– display refresh rate on Pro versions of iPhone 13 – 120 Hz. While on other models 60 Hz;
– display resolution iPhone 13 Pro MAX – 2778 × 1284 pixels. On other models of the new and previous generation – 2532 × 1170 pixels;
– the standard brightness was 625 cd / m² on the basic version, and became 800 cd / m². On the pro versions it was 800 cd / m², and now it is 1000 cd / m².

In human terms, the display has become brighter, and the resolution is higher. So now images and text are displayed even more clearly. And thanks to the new frequency of updates – apps, games, movies, etc. will be reflected on the display faster.

Memory

The last item in our article is the new storage capacity option. iPhone 13 Pro received a capacity of 1 TB. The new generation of iPhones has ushered in an era where memory shortages are no longer a problem for Apple smartphones.
