Samsung only offers high refresh rate screens in its flagship smartphones – the Galaxy S and Galaxy Note series, as well as the Galaxy Z Fold 2, feature 120Hz displays. It seems that the South Korean manufacturer is ready to equip devices of the Galaxy A series with such screens. According to SamMobile, the upcoming Galaxy A52 and Galaxy A72 smartphones will receive displays with a frequency of 90 Hz. It’s certainly not 120Hz like the flagships, but it’s still much better than the standard 60Hz refresh rate.
It is reported that the Galaxy A52 5G will be equipped with a 120Hz screen due to a more powerful chipset – Snapdragon 750G instead of Snapdragon 720G. How this will work in practice is not yet clear, as even Snapdragon 765G devices struggle to keep up with 120Hz in benchmarks. However, even the 90Hz displays in the Galaxy A52 and Galaxy A72 should make the interface smoother. It’s a good thing that technology is already trickling into Samsung’s budget models, as Motorola, Xiaomi, and OnePlus already offer high refresh rate displays in cheaper smartphones.
Some of the characteristics of the Galaxy A52 5G are already known. The future novelty will receive a 6.5-inch Super AMOLED display, up to 8 GB of RAM, up to 256 GB of storage, an on-screen fingerprint scanner and a 4500 mAh battery with 25 W fast charging. The smartphone will have a camera consisting of four modules: the main 64 megapixel, ultra wide-angle 12 megapixel, 5 megapixel macromodule and 5 megapixel depth sensor. The front camera will receive a 32-megapixel sensor. The Galaxy A52 5G will run Android 11 with One UI 3.1.
