OPPO launches Reno7, Reno7 Pro and Reno7 SE: a trio of smartphones with 90Hz and 5G displays

OPPO LAUNCHES RENO7, RENO7 PRO AND RENO7 SE - A TRIO OF SMARTPHONES WITH 90HZ AND 5G DISPLAYS

On Thursday, November 25, OPPO unveiled the new Reno7 series of smartphones in China. The lineup includes three models: OPPO Reno7, Reno7 Pro and Reno7 SE. Smartphones differ from each other in size and characteristics, but are united by their display refresh rate equal to 90 Hz and support for 5G. Also, all three smartphones have the same design with flat edges.

This is the base model in the OPPO Reno7 series. It is based on Qualcomm’s mid-range chipset and has an AMOLED display with a 90Hz refresh rate and a 60Hz fast-charging battery. The device is offered in three configurations with different amounts of RAM and built-in memory.

OPPO Reno7 specifications:

  • SoC: Qualcomm Snapdragon 778G 5G, 6nm process technology, four Kryo 670 cores clocked at 2.4 GHz, four Kryo 670 cores clocked at 1.9 GHz, Adreno 642L graphics accelerator.

  • Built-in memory: 128 or 256 GB (UFS 2.1).
  • Operating system: Android 11 with ColorOS 12 shell.

OPPO Reno7 will go on sale in a week on December 3rd. Prices start at 2,699 yuan (about $ 422 at the exchange rate) for the version with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage. Models with 8/256 GB and 12/256 GB of memory are priced by the manufacturer at 2,999 yuan (about $ 469) and 3,299 yuan (about $ 516), respectively.

Reno7 Pro

At the top of OPPO’s new line of smartphones is the Reno7 Pro. It is based on the flagship MediaTek chipset, which in the maximum configuration is supplemented with 12 GB of RAM. At the front, it has a large and bright AMOLED display with a built-in fingerprint scanner and a front-facing camera embedded on top, while at the back there is a triple main camera led by a 50-megapixel Sony sensor.

  • RAM: 8 or 128 GB.
  • Built-in memory: 256 GB (UFS 3.1).
  • Operating system: Android 11 with ColorOS 12 shell.
  • Front camera: 32 MP (f / 2.4, wide-angle lens).
  • Main camera: triple, 50 MP (Sony IMX766, f / 1.8, wide-angle lens, phase detection autofocus) + wide-angle (f / 2.2, viewing angle 120 degrees) + 2 MP (f / 2.4, macro lens), LED flash, HDR, panorama …
  • Battery: 4,500mAh, 65W fast charging, reverse charging.
  • Port: USB Type-C.

The Pro version goes on sale alongside the base Reno7 next week. It costs 3,699 yuan (about $ 578) for the 8/256 GB version and 3,999 yuan (about $ 625) for the 12/256 GB model.

It is the most affordable of the three new OPPO smartphones and, quite logically, it has the most modest specifications. However, it has exactly the same display as the base Reno7 and the same battery, albeit with less fast charging. It is based on the MediaTek Dimensity chipset and is equipped with a triple main camera.

  • Battery: 4,500mAh, 33W fast charging, reverse charging.
  • Port: USB Type-C.

OPPO Reno7 SE is set to start on December 17th. It will be available for 2,199 yuan (about $ 344) for the base model with 8/128 GB of storage, or 2,399 (about $ 375) for the 256GB configuration.
