Starting next month, gaming laptops with NVIDIA’s new RTX 3070 Ti and RTX 3080 Ti GPUs, which were unveiled at CES 2022 alongside the desktop RTX 3050 and RTX 3090 Ti, will be on sale.

GeForce RTX 3070 Ti and RTX 3080 Ti

According to the company, the RTX 3080 Ti is the fastest laptop GPU to date. The novelty has 16 GB of GDDR6 memory, as well as support for frame rates of 120 FPS and higher at resolutions up to 1440p. NVIDIA says its new graphics card is faster than the Titan RTX for PC. The RTX 3070 Ti is slightly weaker, offering 100 FPS in 1440p gaming, but compared to the RTX 2070 Super, players will notice the difference with a 1.7x performance gain.

Unfortunately, NVIDIA provided very scant information on the specifications, mentioning only the capabilities of the fourth generation Max-Q technology.

Thanks to the new CPU Booster feature, you can control your laptop’s processor, adjusting its performance, temperature and other parameters as needed to free up resources for the graphics accelerator. The company has partnered with Intel and AMD to develop a “new low-level framework” to manage certain next-generation processors, namely Intel Alder Lake and AMD Rembrandt. It also became possible to disable some GPU cores during overclocking (Rapid Core Scaling) and prioritize between running time and high FPS in games (Battery Boost 2.0).

GeForce RTX 3050 and RTX 3090 Ti

Looks like NVIDIA has a new king of budget PC GPUs – the RTX 3050 starting at $ 249. That’s significantly cheaper than the RTX 3060 graphics card, which starts at $ 329. The novelty is built on the Ampere architecture, has 8 GB of GDDR6 memory and third generation tensor cores. Despite its lower cost, the RTX 3050 supports ray tracing at 60 FPS at 1080p and DLSS. The company believes that the RTX 3050 will be the same graphics card that will replace the models based on the outdated platform: GTX 1650, GTX 1050 Ti and GTX 1050.

RTX 3090 Ti is a new flagship graphics card based on Ampere architecture and 8nm GA102 processor. Externally, the new product looks exactly like the RTX 3090. It has 24 GB of GDDR6X memory with a speed of 21 Gb / s and a higher bus frequency, which provides a 7.7% increase in performance in games and tasks using artificial intelligence. NVIDIA claims the RTX 3090 Ti has 40 teraflops of processing power, roughly 11% more than the RTX 3090. It will use 78 teraflops for ray tracing and 320 teraflops for AI tasks.
