iPhone 13 Pro and iPhone 13 Pro Max with six-element wide-angle f / 1.8 lens and autofocus

iPhone 13 Pro and iPhone 13 Pro Max

The well-known analyst Ming-Chi Kuo states that the wide-angle lens in the next generation iPhone will be upgraded.

As the iPhone 12 series was announced just a few weeks ago, the well-known and authoritative analyst on Apple issues, Ming-Chi Kuo, is now turning his attention to the next generation iPhone. In his latest report, he says that the iPhone 13 series will once again consist of 4 versions. More specifically, it states that the Pro versions will have an upgraded camera system which will include a wide-angle lens with an aperture of F / 1.8, will consist of 6 optical elements (6P) while it will also have an autofocus function.

This upgrade should also translate into significant photo quality improvements, compared to the iPhone 12 Pro and 12 Pro max using an F / 2.4 aperture lens and fixed focus. At the moment there is no information about the cameras of the cheapest iPhone 13s model.

Taiwanese company Largan Precision is considered the main supplier of lenses for the new generation iPhone camera, with reports suggesting that the company will receive about 70% of orders. Only the time can tell if the iPhone 13 will finally include a screen with a high refresh rate, a fingerprint sensor under the screen and a smaller notch.
