IPHONE 13 AND IPHONE 13 MINI UNVEILED: REDUCED CUTOUT, 12 PRO MAX CAMERA STABILIZATION AND NEW COLORS

Apple has finally unveiled the basic and most popular model of its smartphones – the iPhone 13, as well as the iPhone 13 mini for fans of miniature devices. Like last year, the former has a 6.1-inch display, while the mini version has a 5.4-inch display. The screen is still an OLED panel, the body is made of glass and the side bezel is aluminum. But unlike its predecessor, the new model has a cutout for Face ID reduced by 20%. It’s not exactly what many expect to see, but better anyway.

One of the major hardware changes in the new generation of Apple smartphones is the A15 Bionic processor, which Apple says is currently the fastest smartphone chipset. It is 50% faster than the competition, and the graphics accelerator is 30% more powerful. It is still a 5nm chip with six CPU cores (with two new high-performance and four high-performance ones) and a separate chip to accelerate machine learning tasks. It has a new video encoder and decoder and twice the system cache.

The new iPhone lineup offers better battery life. The iPhone 13 mini will last an average of 1.5 hours longer than its predecessor, and the iPhone 13 will last 2.5 hours longer than the iPhone 12. All this thanks to a larger battery, better energy efficiency of the A15 Bionic, as well as additional enhancements and software optimizations. provision.

However, the most important and most anticipated change is actually the smartphone’s camera. The iPhone 13 and iPhone 13 mini have a dual-sensor camera system located diagonally. The base version features the same sensor-shift optical image stabilization technology that Apple first introduced in the iPhone 12 Pro Max. The new 12MP f / 1.6 wide-angle camera captures 47% more light, thereby reducing noise and preserving details in dark areas of the image. Another camera also has a resolution of 12 megapixels, but is equipped with an ultra wide-angle lens with an f / 2.4 aperture and a viewing angle of 120 degrees.

Apple also claims the iPhone 13’s video quality is higher than any other smartphone on the market. The company has introduced a new “cinematic mode” that allows you to keep focus on a person while shooting, even if they are moving. The camera automatically focuses in real time and shifts focus from one person to another if they look away from the camera. Cinematic mode supports both main and front cameras.
