Honor has pulled the curtain back on its new flagship devices, the Honor Magic Vs and Honor 80 , naturally, we’re here today to find out about its offering; emphasizing the Magic Vs, since this device marks the beginning of the new generation of folding flagships of the Asian company.
According to George Zhao, CEO of Honor, the Honor Magic Vs includes revolutionary innovations and “will be our first foldable flagship to debut in markets outside of China.”

Going into details, the terminal has the honor of being the lightest folding mobile in the industry, weighing 261 grams, something that is possible in part due to the new ultralight gearless hinge. Said hinge is made of aerospace-grade material and can supposedly withstand over 400,000 folds, which translates to 10 years of use assuming the screen is folded 100 times a day.
Speaking of the screen, it is a 6.45-inch OLED panel with a 21:9 aspect ratio and a 90% screen-to-body ratio. However, that is when it is folded, when unfolded it becomes an extra-wide 7.9-inch screen with a resolution of 2,560 x 1,080 pixels . As if that weren’t enough, the screen boasts a 120Hz refresh rate, 100% DCI-P3 color gamut compatibility, and PWM technology to reduce screen flicker.
In addition to a revolutionary design, the Honor Magic Vs boasts top-of-the-line hardware, starting with the Qualcomm® Snapdragon® 8+ Gen 1 . This chip is accompanied by 8GB of RAM along with 256GB of internal storage, but we can also purchase it in a version with 12GB of RAM plus 512GB of storage. Regardless of the version chosen, the battery has a capacity of 5,000mAh and promises a full charge in a matter of 46 minutes thanks to the 66-watt Honor SuperCharge fast charge.
On the photographic front, it has nothing to envy the competition, since it has a triple camera system that includes a 54MP IMX800 main lens . As a secondary sensor, it incorporates a 50MP ultra-wide macro and, finally, it has an 8MP 3X optical zoom camera. For its part, the selfie camera is a 16MP sensor.

Secondly, we have the Honor 80 series, made up of two terminals. For starters, the Honor 80 has a 6.67-inch curved OLED screen with FHD+ resolution , 120HZ refresh rate and HDR10, for its part, the Honor 80 Pro outlines a similar panel, but with a 6.78-inch diagonal and slightly higher resolution.
When it comes to hardware, the Honor 80 is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 782 chip , but its big brother ups the ante with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen1 . Be that as it may, both phones share memory configurations, ranging from 8GB/256GB to 12GB/512GB.
The above also applies to the battery, which is a 4,800mAh unit with 66W fast charging.
In the photographic field, the HONOR 80 series takes vlogging to a new level thanks to its rear camera with a 160MP main sensor and f/1.8 aperture . In the case of the standard model, we have an 8MP wide angle with an f/2.2 aperture along with a 2MP depth sensor to complement the set. Meanwhile, the Honor 80 Pro replaces that 8MP wide-angle with a 50MP one with f/2.0 aperture.
The front cameras are not the same either. Users of the standard model will have to make do with a respectable 32MP sensor , while users of the Honor 80 Pro have a 50MP + 2MP (depth) dual camera at their disposal for taking selfies and recording vlogs.
Availability and price
The HONOR Magic Vs will be available from November 23 for purchase in China at stores like HiHonor China for €1,015. For its part, the HONOR 80 series will be available at select stores, including HiHonor China , starting November 23 for €365.
