D-Link has officially introduced two new routers in the Eagle Pro AI family at once – now the manufacturer’s range has been expanded with the AX1500 4G + Smart Router (G416) and AX1500 4G Smart Router (G415) models. These routers, as you can guess from the name of the line of devices, are equipped with certain features based on artificial intelligence, which should (theoretically) improve the user experience.

It is also worth noting that D-Link is positioning new products as a solution for home use or office work, which sounds quite realistic in certain scenarios.

The AX1500 4G + Smart Router (G416) and AX1500 4G Smart Router (G415) routers were created for those scenarios when the user does not have the opportunity to connect to wired Internet or there are constant failures in the operation of this connection format. For example, in remote regions, in office buildings without appropriate equipment, or in the private sector, where cabling is too expensive. Accordingly, routers allow you to connect to the Internet via a cellular network, eliminating the need to lay a cable and stuff like that – you just need to install a SIM card.

And although these routers cannot be called standard, the manufacturer made sure that they are not inferior to the classic models in all respects. For example, the new routers are fully compliant with the Wi-Fi 6 (IEEE 802.11ax/ac/n/g/b/a) wireless network standard, operating in the 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz frequency bands. Due to this, an impressive data transfer rate is achieved (300 Mb / s in the case of 2.4 GHz and 1200 Mb / s in the case of 5 GHz) with high network stability. And, of course, the routers are equipped with a built-in 3G / 4G LTE modem – without it, the whole essence of the device would be leveled.

D-Link said that the older model AX1500 4G + Smart Router is capable of transmitting data over a cellular network at a speed of 300 Mb / s, while the younger AX1500 4G Smart Router is limited to 150 Mb / s. With an unlimited data plan and high-quality 4G LTE coverage, it is quite possible to get such data transfer rates. Moreover, the routers have four LAN connectors, so you can connect a computer, laptop or TV to the devices. And the Eagle Pro AI mobile app allows you to quickly set up a wireless network, plus there is support for smart voice assistants Google Assistant and Amazon Alexa.
