TCL, the world’s second largest TV brand and the first in the 98-inch TV segment, has revealed details of its latest generation of advanced Mini LED technology. The most innovative features of the technology are implemented in the C845 4K Mini LED TV, which was introduced earlier this month in Europe and will soon be available in other markets worldwide.
As a pioneer in the development and production of Mini LED TVs, TCL continues to develop Mini LED technology as part of its core strategy to maintain its leadership in the industry.
Through the development of high-performance Mini LED chips and single refraction curved surface adhesive technology, TCL has achieved more precise light control, more uniform light distribution over the surface, better control of the light field, and more efficient light output, while adopting environmentally friendly materials and manufacturing processes. Launched in April 2023, the TCL C845 4K Mini LED TV is available in a variety of screen sizes.

Thanks to the use of 1792 LEDs, the TV delivers a peak brightness of 2000 cd/m2 without the risk of overheating. TCL’s high voltage Mini LED chip is designed to emit light in three PN junctions connected in series. At the same time, the supply voltage is calculated in such a way that the current passing through the LED chip is in the optimal range of light output. As a result, the TV does not overheat even when the LEDs are at full strength and the backlight is at maximum brightness.
Greater control of lighting effects with nearly 900 lighting control zones. To achieve more precise lighting control, the TCL C845 TV uses the principle of “one zone with two LEDs”. Even in extremely dark or overexposed scenes, bright and dark areas are more clearly defined and without annoying haloing for a more comfortable viewing experience. The excellent lighting performance is also attributed to an improved lens design that provides a more uniform image as well as more consistent performance within a single lighting control zone. At the same time, the module and the TV differ in minimum thickness.
TV with a thickness of only 77 mm and a sophisticated design. The TCL C845 uses an “Adhesive Spreading Process” in which a polymer material is applied directly to the LED to form a single free-form refractive surface. As a result, the light spread angle is higher than that of conventional lenses, which can significantly reduce the thickness of the TV, resulting in a sleek and aesthetically pleasing design of the TCL C845 TV.
12-bit dual-mode algorithm for precise light control ensures energy efficiency and eye protection. The use of a 12-bit dual-mode algorithm in combination with analog and PWM dimming results in high precision light control and true color reproduction, as well as high energy efficiency and spectral stability. At the same time, the PWM indicator is in the high-frequency range, which made it possible to reduce the flicker effect for human eyes and provide better eye protection.
