Samsung remains the leader in the TV market in the first half of 2021

According to experts, in the first half of 2021, 98.3 million TVs were shipped to consumers, which is 6.8% higher than the same period last year. However, the biggest impression is made by the statistics of OLED TVs with the indicator of 2.7 million units showing 133% growth! Obviously, this is made possible by Chinese manufacturers joining this premium segment.

Meanwhile, Samsung continues to be the number 1 in the market, shipping 20.8 million TVs in the first half of this year, up 11.9% from the 2020 comparable figure. This year is notable as it marks a stunning 15-year period of undisputed leadership for the Korean manufacturer.

There are no changes and in the 2nd place, which is occupied by the eternal competitor of Samsung – the company LG, which delivered 13.1 million TVs to the market. Chinese TCL has made good progress, having taken the third place in the market at the end of the first half of 2021 with an indicator of 11.1 million TVs, which is 13.6% higher than the same period last year. As a result, TCL also became the largest manufacturer in the Middle Kingdom.

This is followed by Hisense with the shipment of 8.4 million TVs, and the newcomer to the market, Xiaomi, closes the top five with 5.4 million TVs. Subsequent places in the top ten went to Sony, Vizio, Philips, Skyworth and Sharp, respectively.
