Samsung Unveils Neo QLED TVs with AI That Will Suggest Recipes from the Screen and Help with Home Security

Samsung is kicking off 2025 with a fresh lineup of TVs packed with AI features. At the CES 2025 event, they unveiled their Neo QLED 8K series, which includes the QN990F and QN900F models, along with the Neo QLED 4K options: QN90F, QN80F, and QN70F. These new TVs come with antiglare technology and a bunch of AI-driven features that are part of the Samsung Vision AI system.

The standout model, the Neo QLED 8K QN990F, boasts a sleek, ultra-thin design and is powered by Samsung’s NQ8 AI Gen 3 processor. This advanced chip enables AI capabilities like upscaling to 8K, enhancing color range and dynamic contrast, adaptive sound, and color improvements. There’s even a special AI mode that automatically tweaks the picture and sound based on what’s playing on the screen.

Sticking to the minimalist vibe, the QN990F includes a Wireless One Connection Box, so you won’t have to deal with messy wires connected directly to the TV. You can hook up your external devices to this box, and it sends the data to the TV wirelessly. Samsung claims you can maintain a stable connection with devices up to 10 meters away.

The Neo QLED 4K models come packed with NQ4 AI Gen 3 processors, offering image scaling and a smooth refresh rate of 165Hz. You can grab the QN80F in a massive 100-inch size, while the QN90F is available in an even bigger 115-inch version.

Samsung is really pushing the envelope with AI in their TVs. Their collection of AI features is branded as Samsung Vision AI. This includes cool stuff like enhanced personalization and smarter interactions with your TV. The Click to Search feature can spot people, places, and objects on your screen, then pull up relevant info online. So, if you’re curious about an actor in a scene, it can help you find out who they are or what that cool place is.

On top of that, the Samsung Food feature can identify food items, suggest recipes, and even help you order your favorite meals through delivery apps. Plus, there’s the Samsung AI Home Security feature that turns your TV into a surveillance hub. With built-in microphones and cameras, it can pick up on strange sounds or movements and send alerts to your phone or show them on the TV.

Another neat feature is Live Translate, which translates subtitles into your chosen language on the fly. And if you want to jazz up your screen, the Generative Wallpaper feature lets you create unique, dynamic backgrounds.

Samsung is set to share more about these new TVs at CES 2025, happening from January 7 to 10 in Las Vegas.
