LG QNED75: Ultra slim TV that deliver on all aspects

LG QNED75 Review
LG QNED75 Review

LG QNED75 is a television without mystery. It is ideal as a mid-range if you are looking for a piece from a recognized brand and, in fact, stands out in this line for its QNED panel, which does a great job with the backlighting and, therefore, with the image quality in general, this being its strong point.

Design and connectivity

LG dresses its new television in ash blue , although only in its frames, which, as you will see in the image below, are minimal, millimeters, and in the bezels. The back or rear casing is black and the stand is metallic . For the rest, this is a beautiful and simple design that does not have anything particularly notable beyond its versatility.

Thin edge and almost invisible from the front

The whole is 781 x 1233 x 257 mm and weighs 16.7 kilos . However, as is the case with practically all televisions (especially medium and large sizes), you can choose to use only the LG 55QNED756RA panel, which should be coupled to a system with VESA compatibility in 300 x 300 mm . Thus, the 400 grams of weight of its V-shaped legs and the height and depth they provide would be subtracted, leaving a panel of 16.3 kg and 716 x 1233 x 44.2 mm .

Tuning and connectivity

With this model we see once again that LG maintains its “innovative” idea of removing the analog tuner when we talk about mid-range. Thus, the LG 55QNED756RA has the other three tuning methods available: CI+ in 1.4, HbbTV and full digital .

Large recess on the back for connectors

The physical connectivity, which is located on the rear panel, is conventional, typical of a mid-range. LG includes here the CI slot, the antenna for digital, an optical output for digital audio , the RJ 45 Ethernet LAN connector , two USB 2.0 ports (one of them with the capacity to record TV) and four HDMI 2.0 inputs .

Like so many other models, we find a WiFI and Bluetooth combo for wireless, both in version 5.

Image quality and general functions

We are looking at a 55-inch IPS panel (which is 139 cm). It has a resolution of 3820 x 2160 pixels . The backlight consists of an LED duo such as QuantumDot and NanoCell Plus (QNED) . The work is done in six backlight blocks.

The combo, together with the given color depth of 8 + 2 bits , and a matrix of 30, means that we enjoy 1073 million colors.

Other technologies present in this panel are Local Dimming, Ultra Contrast or Dynamic Tone Mapping .

You will feel an explosion of color with the LG 55QNED756RA

LG’s ThinQ AI works on upscaling content to improve its resolution and controlling brightness (the TV has a light sensor).

The model’s HDR system shows us full support for HDR HLG, HGiG and HDR 10 Pro .

As for movement, we are left with a maximum of 60 Hz frequency and Motion Pro technology to accompany it and try to smooth out the fastest scenes.

Audio

Like other aspects of the LG 55QNED756RA that we have seen, the sound section is also average.

We have a 2.0 system with two down firing type speakers . These provide 10 W RMS each, so the total sound power that we can enjoy will be 20 W RMS .

The television processes the sound up to Dolby Digital Plus . As an extra, it has an improvement given, again, by the firm’s artificial intelligence. This consists of creating (virtualizing) the sound characteristics of a 5.1.2 system using Virtual 5.1.2 up-mix , whenever this is possible, of course, designing a sound that is more immersive.

As expected, in the LG 55QNED756RA we will find LG Sound Sync technology , designed to wirelessly connect compatible audio devices. In addition, LG now introduces WoW Interface , which is an interface that appears on the screen (software) so that we can control the linked sound bar from there (either via Bluetooth or HDMI). Like almost any other mid-range model and recognized brand, we have the option of sending audio tracks via Bluetooth .

Software/smartTV analysis

webOS 23 for the LG 55QNED756RA

webOS 23  prepares us to live a complete and intelligent experience with this television.

The novelty of the previous version is maintained, which was being able to create different profiles so that the personalization of each experience was maximum.

Added to this are the three basic new features of the 2023 update. These include direct access to the image and sound settings menus , which are, without a doubt, the ones we give the most support to, support for Matter linking technology. , more widespread every time, and a clarified user interface that makes everything much more pleasant to our eyes, making it easier to find the content.

As exclusive services, you have LG Channels , a set of channels that provides free content continuously, AI Concierge , which provides us with recommendations using artificial intelligence based on your history and the LG Store, where you will find all the applications available to install on the LG 55QNED756RA.

You can do two-way mirroring, multiview of two screens, place subtitles, configure some options to play or a shutdown time , consult the content guide , connect to Apple thanks to AirPlay 2 support , use a voice assistant (Google Assistant or Alexa ).
