Hitachi HAK5751 : Affordable TV in a simple package

If you are thinking of renovating your old television, but you do not have a very high budget to acquire a high-end model. Do not worry, the Hitachi brand offers us a fairly complete equipment for the mid-range that stands out for including essential features for a cheaper value. We talk about the Hitachi HAK5751 .

Perhaps the name of the firm does not generate much confidence, however, you should know that it has been in Spain for a long time and so far they have produced good televisions, especially for the most basic range. In this article we will talk in depth about its main benefits , likewise, we will look for its negative points to also mention them.

Design

Simple design that does not stand out too much, however, it has interesting details in its elaboration

As is usually normal, the design of these products does not usually stand out too much, in fact, they usually maintain a similar line in their aesthetics . In any case, we are going to find some aspects that may help you show a better appearance. For starters, we’re talking about a 55-inch TV that’s the ideal size to fit.

The most striking thing is found on the front where thin bezels have been integrated that accompany the screen quite well. With this we achieve greater elegance regardless of the environment of the room or room where it is placed. As if that were not enough, they are essential to get more out of the size of the screen and watch our content.

If we turn the television over, we find the poorest at the design level, since the rear part has a not so clean elaboration that presents a greater thickness at certain points. Which takes away his presence when looking at him from the sides . Another point to consider is that the building materials used feel slightly weak.

Connectivity

Good connectivity that starts with the four added HDMI 2.0 that are essential for connecting and transmitting the video and audio signal from external devices. For its part, the two USB 2.0 allows you to play content or if you prefer you can record it directly from the TV with the PVR function. There is also a D-sub port for connecting computers or other peripherals. An AV component for connecting video players.

It also has the typical audio output and an antenna (RF) that will be compatible with a large number of tuners, including DVB-T2 . Let’s move on to wireless where we are also going to enjoy great benefits. First, there is a Wi-Fi connection that is classic for this range that allows us to use the internet from a distance. The Bluetooth can connect different devices without using cables. And DLNA for smartphones.

Image quality and features

We come to one of the most important sections of any television. In the case of the Hitachi 55HAK5751 we are going to enjoy an acceptable image that begins by including a 4K resolution that, as is well known, is four times more powerful than that delivered in Full HD, therefore, the content we see must present more precise details .

Perhaps the only negative detail we see is that a Direct LED panel is included which is very common in this category, however, its backlighting is not that powerful and in dark or bright environments the image quality can be slightly lost . So, you should look for a good placement where neither of these two points affects so much.

Taking this into account, no more conflicts should be generated regarding lighting . Something that we also like is that some enhancement technologies are implemented that will be of great help for a better visual experience. One of them is Wide Color Gamut that allows us to enjoy more vivid and intense colors that will give realism to each scene.

To improve the contrast, two high-level functions are integrated such as Micro Dimming and Ultra Contrast that will give greater sharpness. In short we are going to enjoy deeper blacks. In case the content we see is not in 4K, the UHD Upscaler technology will try to increase the quality to have a clearer view.

Sound

It was to be expected that the sound was not a big deal, and in our opinion it could be considered as the weakest point. In this case, there are two speakers that offer a total power of 20W , something that in certain cases is considered acceptable, however, for more demanding content it is not enough and certain conflicts are generated.

It is true that there are some enhancement technologies that we must be honest if they provide a slight help. Here we have Dolby Audio , DTS HD and Sound Master Plus that try to give us a more immersive and clean experience. However, to get a sound that is really worth it we must purchase an external sound bar.

Among the highlights of the Hitachi 55HAK5751 we find that Android 9.0 Pie offers one of the most complete systems today. In the first place, its navigation is very intuitive and any user can use it, likewise, it has a good optimization that feels fluid, although sometimes due to the processor we can notice some delays .

But what really stands out about this platform is that it includes the Play Store that offers us the most extensive catalog of applications where we will find great options such as Netflix , YouTube , Prime Video , DAZN and Disney + . As if that were not enough, this also gives us the opportunity to download games and music, so we will have an extensive entertainment section.

To have better control of the TV, we have Google Assistant that allows us to perform some actions using our voice. Another benefit that we love is that we also have Chromecast that gives us the ability to stream movies, videos, music and images from the smartphone. Lastly, it also includes HDR10 , HLG, and Dolby Vision .

PROS:

  • Front with reduced frames
  • Recording via USB
  • Bluetooth
  • Acceptable image quality
  • Includes HDR10 + and Dolby Vision
  • Android TV
  • Price

CONS:

  • Rest of the design
  • Its sound is a little low
  • A not so powerful processor
