Hisense U800GR: First 8K TV and 4K dual panel model from Hisense

Unlike Japanese or Korean TV manufacturers, Chinese brands supply significantly more advanced models to the US market than to Europe. This also applies to Hisense: it was for the American market that it prepared its first 8K TV, Hisense U800GR.

Hisense U800GR is built around a 180-zone direct backlit FALD LCD, is 75 inches diagonal and very well equipped. It has support for all HDR video formats, including HDR10 + and Dolby Vision, HDMI v2.1 with VRR, and connection of receivers and wireless acoustics using the WiSA standard.

True, the U800GR works under the Roku OS, like the company’s inexpensive models. However, it itself will cost about $ 3,200 excluding taxes, because, oddly enough, it will not become the flagship of the line.

The 4K model Hisense 75U9DG is more expensive than it – it will cost $ 3,500. Having the same diagonal of 75 inches, it is listed in the company’s lineup as a DualCell model, that is, it is equipped with two LCD matrices at once. The main one, that is, the matrix facing the audience, works as usual, and the second one behind it – in black and white mode, thus increasing the contrast of such a sandwich by 2 times.

What kind of backlight is used for this is not mentioned, but it is stated that the maximum brightness of the 75U9DG will be no worse than that of the U800GR – up to 1,000 nits (cd / m2) at peak.

The equipment will also be the same, that is, support for all new formats is guaranteed, the presence of HDMI v2.1 and other things, but the OS will be different – Android. It is positioned in Hisense as more premium, although Roku has support for all iconic streaming video services and an omnivorous media player.
