Microsoft discourages users from installing Google Chrome

As reported by Neowin, Windows 10 and 11 users began to receive special prompts from the system with warnings that discourage installing Google Chrome.

In notifications, the browser from Google is called old, but Microsoft Edge is new. At the same time, the company emphasizes that Edge works on the same technologies as Chrome, but “Microsoft trusts it more.”

  • This browser is like from 2008! Do you know who’s new? Microsoft Edge.
  • Microsoft Edge uses the same technologies as Chrome, but Microsoft trusts it more.
  • “I hate saving money,” no one would ever say. Microsoft Edge is the best browser for online shopping.

Among other things, if you try to make a request in Bing like “browser” or “download browser”, then a recommendation for Edge will appear. However, Google also sometimes sends tips to users of its search engine recommending to use Chrome.
