iPhone 12 and MagSafe May Interfere with Medical Implants

Apple has never denied that the smartphone iPhone 12 and a wireless charger MagSafe can create electromagnetic interference for medical devices, including pacemakers and defibrillators is. Now a document has appeared on the company’s website that reveals this topic in more detail.

This document says: “Medical devices, such as implanted pacemakers and defibrillators, can be equipped with sensors that respond to magnetic fields and radio waves at close range. To eliminate the potential for disruption, keep iPhone and MagSafe charger away from medical devices — 15 cm (15 cm) during normal use and 30 cm (30 cm) when charging with a wireless MagSafe device. For more specific recommendations, you should consult with your doctor and medical device manufacturer .

Recall that the problem was recently raised in the Heart Rhythm Journal , where research results were published that showed that iPhone 12 smartphones can interfere with the normal functioning of implantable medical devices, creating electromagnetic interference during operation.
