Firefox for Android now comes with Total Cookie Protection

FIREFOX FOR ANDROID NOW COMES WITH TOTAL COOKIE PROTECTION, AN ANTI-TRACKING TOOL

The developers of the Mozilla Firefox browser announced the implementation of the Total Cookie Protection (TCP) tool in the version of the application for the Android operating system. The function was presented back in 2021, but until that moment it was available only to browser users on Windows, Linux and macOS.

TCP prevents sites from using cookies from other resources that are stored on the device. This is often used for cross-surfing and ad profile building. Sites can no longer track users’ actions on the global network – they are only allowed to use their own “cookies”.

The developers demonstrated the work of the security function on a colorful image.

As you can see, before TCP integration, a website could use absolutely any cookies for its own purposes (mainly for advertising), however, after that, only its own “cookies” are available to each resource. Thus, the sites will not be able to collect more information about the user – they will only be able to operate with the information that the user himself provides them.
