Pioneer DJ Launches Three DM Tabletop Speakers with Updated Amplification

The three new additions to Pioneer DJ’s DM series of desktop speakers are not radical new models. DM-50D-BT is a version of the DM-50D model already known since the end of last year, supplemented by Bluetooth. As for the other two, these are modifications of the DM-40 acoustics, the 40D-BT version is equipped with Bluetooth, and the 40D is not.

According to Pioneer DJ, all three have received updated Class-D amplifiers with a sampling rate of 96 kHz, which allows them to “reproduce a clear, balanced bass sound.” The built-in DSP supports “Production Mode” with a sound option optimized for DJing – that’s Pioneer DJ. The convex DECO cone will still provide a wider treble pattern, and the symmetrical bass reflex ports are designed to eliminate overtones.

The larger DM-50D-BT speakers are equipped with a 5-inch woofer, for models with the “40” index, it is, respectively, 4-inch. A soft dome tweeter operates at high frequencies. Another difference between smaller and larger models is in switching. DM-50D-BT, in addition to RCA inputs and a mini-jack, also received a 1/4-inch connector, which is not available in the 40s models. But the volume control and headphone jack are in all three kits, presented in black or white.

In the UK, the DM-50D-BT is £230, the DM-40D-BT is £170 and the DM-40D is £150 each.
