New Living Voice R80 speakers coming soon

The British company Living Voice will present at the Audio Show Deluxe exhibition , which will be held in Whittlebury Hall on 25 and 26 March, the production version of the new R 80 loudspeakers . For the first time, these acoustics were shown as a concept four years ago, and now, apparently, these speakers will go on sale very soon.

Kevin Scott of Living Voice said, “We wanted to create a speaker that combined the lyricism, coherence and innate musicality of the OBX – RW 4 with the scale and dynamic range of the Vox Olympian To achieve this goal, we opted for a D’ Appolito topology, two-way configuration and phase-reversed acoustic design, using two 8″ drivers and 34mm dome tweeter. We embarked on this path three years ago, and today we present the result of our work . ”

The Living Voice R 80 speakers are built around an elliptical Scan-Speak tweeter and a pair of 8-inch elliptical drivers (elliptical in this case refers not to the shape of the cone, but to the profile of the voice coil). Although the official specifications of the Living Voice R80 have not yet been released, it is reported that the new product has a sensitivity of about 96 dB and a “flat impedance response.” The model was designed to work with tube single-ended triode amplifiers. As with all Living Voice speakers, the precision calibrated crossover components are either made in-house or sourced from carefully selected suppliers.

Information about the possible timing of the appearance of the Living Voice R 80 on sale, as well as recommended retail prices, will be announced later.
