MoFi Electronics unveils SourcePoint 8 coaxial bookshelf speakers

MoFi Electronics has now introduced SourcePoint 8 coaxial bookshelf speakers. These speakers are equipped with 8-inch speakers – it is clear that they turned out to be much more compact than the SourcePoint 10 model with a 10-inch driver. On this occasion, Andrew Jones, chief speaker designer at MoFi Electronics, put it this way: “Everyone who hears and loves the sound of 10″ speakers but can’t fit them in their room now has the same sound quality in a much smaller space. corps”.

The SourcePoint 8’s custom eight-inch, two-way coaxial driver shares the essential qualities of its larger SourcePoint 10 counterpart. This is, first of all, the MoFi Twin-Drive magnetic structure based on neodymium magnets with a high magnetic flux. The mid-bass cone is molded from classic cellulose pulp, but “with a completely new corrugated edging.”

At the same time, the cone serves as a waveguide for a 1.25-inch soft dome tweeter. The inflection frequency implemented in the crossover is at the level of 1.6 kHz. The cabinet of the SourcePoint 8 is constructed from 20mm MDF panels and reinforced with a pair of bracing. As a result, the speaker boasts a sensitivity of 87 dB with a lower frequency limit of 47 Hz. Claimed system impedance is 8 ohms with a minimum of 6.4 ohms.

SourcePoint 8 will get a matte natural walnut veneer, ash or matte white finish. The release of new items on the market is scheduled for May.

MoFi Electronics SourcePoint 8 bookshelf speakers will cost $2,750 per pair in the US. For branded floor stands, you will have to pay another $ 250.
