Today, September 14, during its event, Apple officially unveiled a new generation of smartwatches – Apple Watch Series 7. As reported by insiders, the device received an enlarged display, which, thanks to thin bezels (they are probably even thinner than on flagship smartphones) fit into a body that is almost the same size as the previous generation model. At the same time, the thickness of the case has become smaller, the glass on the display has received a noticeable rounding, and the brightness of the screen has increased by 70%. But the manufacturer decided not to stop only on the hardware component – the large display opened up new horizons for watchOS 8.
Thanks to the large diagonal of the display, the developers from Apple were able to implement a full-fledged QWERTY keyboard for this device. Accordingly, now the user will be able to type messages directly from the watch display – the company claims that this is quite convenient, but, of course, this still needs to be checked.
Also, the new generation of smartwatches has become more durable – these are the strongest Apple Watch in the entire history of the line’s existence. The watch has received IP6X certification – it is not afraid of fine dust and dirt, and is also more resistant to physical impact.
Apple also said that the new smartwatch boasts 18 hours of battery life, and charging is now 30% faster than the previous generation – in eight minutes at the charging station (via USB-C), the watch receives energy for eight hours of tracking the user’s sleep.
Of course, Apple has not been without new case colors, a sea of new dials and, of course, straps. There are really a lot of options, some look extremely fresh and provide a potential buyer with a good choice.
Now for the new pricing – the Series 3 is now $ 199, the Watch SE is $ 279, and the Series 7 is $ 399. The start of sales is scheduled for the fall of 2021, the exact date has not yet been named.
