Leica has expanded its product range with a new flagship camera, the SL3. The new product, which has become an update for the SL line, cannot be called affordable, since you can become its owner for $6,995.
The basis of the new gadget is a full-frame BSI CMOS sensor with a resolution of 60 megapixels. According to the company, it will allow you to record video in 1080p at 120 fps, 4K at 60 fps and 8K at 30 fps. In all cases, the color depth will be 10 bits.
The engineers used the proprietary Maestro IV processor, which is responsible for processing the resulting images. It is capable of five-axis stabilization with five exposure levels. Hybrid focusing is announced, featuring phase/contrast autofocus with 315 zones. The Leica SL3 camera is able to find people in the frame, their faces or, for example, eyes in order to focus on them. Representatives of flora and fauna can also become objects of focus.
The camera is equipped with an electronic viewfinder and an OLED display with a resolution of 5.76 megapixels and a refresh rate of 120 Hz. There is also a small retractable touch screen – it has a diagonal of 3.2 inches and a resolution of 2.33 megapixels. Supports work with CFexpress and UHS-II SD memory cards. It is possible to connect the camera to third-party gadgets via Wi-Fi wireless connection. Dimensions Leica SL3 – 151 × 108 × 85 mm, weight – 850 grams.

The capacity of the built-in rechargeable battery is enough to take 320 pictures on a full charge. As previously reported, the Leica SL3 costs $6,995, which is $1,000 more than its predecessor, the SL2.
