Leica continues to make money on all sorts of limited editions and, judging by the frequency of their appearance, quite successfully.
This time, the reason for the release of the new one was the 60th anniversary of the release of the first film of the famous Bondiada – the company released a limited series of cameras Leica D-Lux 7 ‘007’ Edition. This is the same compact D-Lux 7, but decorated in the style of the famous film: the 007 logo on the top panel, a lens cap with a pistol barrel design that opens automatically when the camera is turned on, a special color, a special holster, etc.
Leica said only 1962 D-Lux 7 ‘007’ Edition kits would be made. The figure 1962 is not accidental – this is the year of the release of the first film “Doctor No” with Sean Connery in the role of Bond.
From the source – D-Lux 7 – the new “Bond” camera differs only in appearance and price: the first version is now sold for $ 1395, “007” – already $ 500 more expensive – for $ 1995:

The new camera comes with a grip, wrist strap and shoulder holster.
We also note that on sale there is also a compact Panasonic LUMIX DC-LX100II priced at $ 1000, which does not differ in filling and capabilities from the German “brothers”:
