The new smartphone models – Apple iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max – have a USB-C port, which makes it possible to record video to external SSD drives and at the same time in the ProRes codec. The new CFexpress B recording module from Kondor Blue and Angelbird allows you to use this functionality in a more convenient and familiar way for filmmakers and camera operators.
The new model from Kondor Blue and Angelbird provides the ability to record video in 4K 60fps resolution on CFexpress Type B memory cards. It is worth keeping in mind that this function is supported exclusively by the new generation iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max smartphones. The new device allows data transfer at speeds of up to 20 Gbps via the USB-C 3.2 Gen 2 interface.
The device itself has a “recessed” port, which, according to the manufacturer, ensures stable and uninterrupted data transfer. No additional power source is required for the device – power is provided via the USB-C port.
It is especially emphasized that the recording module from Kondor Blue and Angelbird can withstand extreme temperatures and even shock. It comes with a 3-year limited warranty.
There is a MagSafe compatible magnetic array for quick attachment to your smartphone. There are also ¼”-20 fasteners with a special design that prevents twisting. The package includes a USB-C 3.2 cable 12 centimeters long.
Kondor Blue claims that the magnetic coupling between the module and the smartphone is quite strong. At the same time, the device also has rubber pads that provide additional grip on the module and hold it in place, preventing scratches on the back of the iPhone.
By the way, the module can be used with any camera that has a recording function via the USB-C port. It can also be used as a card reader for uploading footage.
