According to one source, the Canon EOS R5 Mark II camera with the latest 60-megapixel full-frame sensor will be announced soon. This device will have the ability to record video in 8K format at a recording speed of up to 60 frames per second. Officially, Canon has not yet announced plans to introduce the second model of the Canon EOS R5 camera.

According to early prototype leaks, the Canon EOS R5 Mark II will be equipped with the latest DPAF sensor. In addition, it is expected to support 8K 120fps video output via HDMI to a monitor recorder, which will make this model more versatile and suitable for various shooting tasks.

In addition, it is reported that the camera will receive an improved cooling radiator, which will avoid overheating during prolonged work with high loads (for example, shooting 8K in RAW).

Interestingly, the information from the source also mentions the introduction of AI AF into the functionality of the Canon EOS R5 Mark II. It’s not clear at the moment exactly what features and capabilities the new AI-based autofocus system will adopt, but given Canon’s experience with AI algorithms in advanced AF tracking, it’s safe to assume we might see more advanced features than what other cameras already have.

The official announcement of the camera is expected in the first quarter of 2024. This is all the information on the upcoming camera .

Let me also remind you that Canon recently showed a prototype 3D VR camera with support for shooting with 180° and 360° viewing angles.
