Xiaomi has announced a new advanced smartphone of the Redmi sub-brand – Redmi Note 13 Pro+. It received expanded camera capabilities, which means, theoretically, it should be suitable for taking photos and videos. At the same time, the price of the device is $260, which corresponds to a fairly budget level.

The head of Xiaomi Group and general manager of the Redmi brand, Lu Weibing, published examples of pictures taken on the new Redmi Note 13 Pro+ smartphone. Both shots were taken in the dark and allow you to evaluate the capabilities of the device’s cameras in such shooting conditions.

The first photo was taken with a focal length of 46mm (equivalent), with an aperture of F/1.65, shutter speed of 1/20 and ISO 800:

Indeed, the smartphone allows you to “stretch out” dark areas of the frame without visible noise. For example, the top of the house in the background. However, it is obvious that the image is blurry – the taxi number is barely visible. Let’s look at the following photo published by the general manager of the Redmi brand: 46mm, F/1.65, 1/33, ISO 320:

This shot looks more detailed and, again, shadow detail is preserved. There is no noticeable noise in the image. Obviously, the Redmi Note 13 Pro+ smartphone performs software processing of images or even “stitches” several frames with different exposures into one to preserve details in the shadows and reduce noise levels. However, it obviously falls short of flagship devices.

“The expressiveness of the two night scenes accidentally shot on the Note 13 Pro+ is truly far beyond the level of ordinary mid-range flagships. And the impressions from the pictures are also very good ,” said the head of Xiaomi.

The Redmi Note 13 Pro+ smartphone received a 200 MP sensor (matrix model – Samsung ISOCELL HP3 Discovery Edition). Theoretically, it should allow you to take pictures with 4x zoom without any visible loss of quality. However, such a thesis must be verified in real smartphone tests. This sensor has an optical format of 1/1.4 inches and is equipped with optics with an F/1.65 aperture.

The rear camera unit is complemented by an ultra-wide-angle lens with an 8-megapixel matrix and a 2-megapixel macro module. The front camera has a resolution of 16 megapixels. The optical fingerprint scanner is located under the screen.

The Redmi Note 13 Pro+ smartphone received a Dimensity 7200-Ultra mobile processor (4-nm process technology) with four Cortex A715 and four Cortex A510 cores.

Xiaomi Redmi Note 13 Pro+ is equipped with a 6.67-inch OLED display with curved edges, a resolution of 2712×1220 pixels, high color depth of 12 bits, a refresh rate of 120 Hz and 100% coverage of the DCI-P3 color space. The display brightness is 1200 cd/m2 , and the maximum brightness when playing HDR content is 1800 cd/ m2 . The PWM backlight control frequency is 1920 Hz.

Redmi Note 13 Pro+ received a 5000 mAh battery that supports 120 W wired fast charging. The battery is charged to 100% in just 19 minutes. The smartphone will be launched on the global market in early 2024.
