OPPO Find X5 Lite: Mid-range with great features

OPPO Find X5 Lite
OPPO Find X5 Lite

The OPPO Find X5 Lite is the younger brother of the Oppo Find X5 family, being a very competitive mid-range smartphone with a MediaTek 900 chip, a nice design, 65W Supervooc fast charging and many other attractions that make it a competitive option. As you can guess, it is the cheapest model in its series, but that is not why we should rule it out, since as we will discover throughout this analysis, it is an excellent option in the current mid-range market.

However, for those who are looking for a smartphone of the upper-middle range, we can recommend the Oppo Reno8 first hand , which we consider a pleasant surprise in its respective market segment.

Design and screen

In terms of aesthetics, it is a quite beautiful mobile that we find available in two color presentations: starry black and stellar blue. Regardless of the chosen color, a semi-transparent plastic mobile with a very unique texture awaits us , which hides fingerprints and stains well, to the point that we can only see them when the light reflects directly.

With that said, the phone does have a good grip, which is a product of its curved edges and unibody design. Also, it is quite thin (7.81mm) and light, so there are no complaints in this regard.

The front is home to a 6.43-inch AMOLED screen with FullHD+ resolution (2,400 x 1,080 pixels) and a refresh rate that ranges between 60Hz and 90Hz depending on the situation. That said, it’s an excellent panel that shines for its fluidity and color rendering, but leaves a little to be desired in terms of its level of brightness and response speed of the on-screen fingerprint reader.

In general, it is an excellent mobile to consume multimedia content and also to play thanks to those 90Hz, but stereo sound is missing for a more complete experience.

Hardware and features

Under its beautiful design lies a MediaTek Dimensity 900 chip with a liquid cooling system complemented by multilayer graphite sheets, elements that allow it to maintain its level of performance without overheating. With that in mind, the processor is accompanied by 8GB of RAM and 256GB of UFS 3.1 type internal storage.

This combination of components allows the OPPO Find X5 Lite to score a 705 and 2,186 in Geekbench 5’s single-core and multi-thread tests , respectively; which puts it above terminals like the OnePlus Nord CE 2 and Realme 8 Pro in terms of performance, but below let’s say the Relame Master Edition.

Benchmarks aside, the OPPO Find X5 Lite is a terminal that can handle everything we throw at it on a daily basis, from applications to social networks, including demanding games like Genshin Impact, Call of Duty and PUBG Mobile . which we can play smoothly at 60FPS most of the time. Best of all, its cooling system is effective in preventing performance drop for thermal reasons.

In another order of ideas, the operating system on duty is Android 12 , but obviously it is not alone, since Oppo’s user interface (ColorOS 12) is present. It should be noted that it comes with one or another unwanted app, but nothing that we cannot eliminate. In addition, it provides stable and smooth operation at all times.

If we talk about connectivity, then know that it consists of 5G, Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.2, GPS and others.

cameras

The OPPO Find X5 Lite has a triple camera on the back, which is led by a 64MP main sensor . Similarly, it consists of an 8MP wide-angle lens with a 119-degree field of view and a 2MP macro sensor . For its part, the front camera uses a 32MP sensor .

Specs aside, it’s a good camera in the right conditions. Simply put, you can get Instagram-worthy shots when the sunlight is favourable , but come nightfall, even night mode can’t save our photos from noise and blur. Likewise, the macro camera could well be for decoration, since it needs a lot of light to get something decent.

The quality of the front camera is not bad, and the night mode favors it more than the rear camera itself.

How about the battery?

Finally, the OPPO Find X5 Lite is powered by a 4,500mAh battery that promises more than a day of use, and keeps its word, because on average we can expect 31 hours of normal use with the screen alternating between 60 and 90Hz, or well only 7 and a half hours with the screen on all the time.

It is not exactly a remarkable duration, but its 65W SuperVOOC fast charge is, because in just 45 minutes it can be charged to 100% . Similarly, the manufacturer ensures that 5 minutes of charging is enough to obtain 2 hours of use.

PROS:

  • The screen is very fluid
  • 65W fast charge
  • Good value within its respective range

CONS:

  • Night photography leaves something to be desired
  • The fingerprint reader is a bit slow
  • It does not have stereo sound
