HMD Global presented 3 mobiles before the MWC 2023 came into force, and one of those debutants is the Nokia G22 , an entry-level / mid-range terminal with specifications according to the price, but with a singularity: it was designed to facilitate its repair .
In this sense, the Nokia G22 has built-in QuickFix repair capability and invites users to consult iFixit to find spare parts for Nokia mobiles. This specific model lends itself to replacing the screen and battery with ease . Similarly, the G22 is built to last, to the point that Nokia promises a 3-year warranty and security updates, not to mention 2 years of operating system updates.
Nokia G22
Going into details, the Nokia G22 puts on the table a 6.52-inch LCD screen with HD+ resolution , 90Hz refresh rate and 500 nits brightness . It exhibits a drop-shaped notch where the selfie camera is housed, which, by the way, is 8MP.
To make the multimedia experience more enjoyable, Nokia equipped the terminal with OZO Playback to balance the sound of the headphones.
Under the hood it has a humble –but respectable- Unisoc Tiger T606 chip with 4GB of RAM (virtually expandable with an additional 2GB) along with 64/128GB of internal storage, which is also expandable via Micro-SD up to 2TB.
Powering the set we get a 5,050mAh battery with 20W fast charging , and as we mentioned before, it can be replaced on its own. In addition, the brand promises 3 days of autonomy with conservative use and 800 charging cycles before it starts to wear out.
The current operating system is Android 12, which means that it will be updated to Android 14. Finally, it is worth mentioning that the rear camera is made up of the following sensors:
- 50MP main
- 2MP depth sensor
- 2MP macro camera
Availability and price
The Nokia G22 will go on sale for a price of 179 euros from March 8.
