Nio, a well-known automaker from the Middle Kingdom, introduced the first smartphone in its history with the simple name Nio Phone. As the developers explained, the new product is mainly intended for owners of the brand’s cars, since more than 30 functions and parameters can be controlled using a smartphone. For example, the user can check the charge of the traction battery or adjust the operation of the climate system.

Nio Phone also interacts with the media system. A movie launched on a mobile device can later be watched on the screen of the infotainment system. The route specified on the smartphone will also be displayed here.

As for the characteristics, the Nio Phone is based on the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 single-chip platform with a clock frequency of 3.2 GHz. The amount of RAM is 12/16 GB, the storage capacity is 512 GB or 1 TB. Information is displayed on the Samsung E6’s 6.81-inch OLED display with 2K resolution, 120Hz refresh rate and 1800 nits peak brightness.

On the back panel there is a main camera module with three sensors each with a resolution of 50 megapixels. There is no information about the resolution of the front camera.

Autonomous operation is provided by a 5200 mAh battery that supports 66 W wired charging and 50 W wireless charging. Support for 10W reverse charging is also announced. The smartphone operates under the SkyUI shell, which, as the developers say, is completely devoid of any advertising.
