In anticipation of the New Year, Infinix has decided to expand its diverse range of budget smartphones. The Hot 40 line has been officially introduced in China; it includes three models with a bright iPhone-style design and a Magic Ring smart panel – an analogue of the interactive Dynamic Island cutout from the same Apple. The new Hot 40 Pro, Hot 40 and Hot 40i have slightly different technical equipment, but they are united by a 5000 mAh battery and the proprietary Xboost game engine, which provides convenient control of settings in games and specifically optimizes performance.

This smartphone is the most sophisticated of the new trio. It has a 6.78-inch IPS display with Full HD+ resolution and the highest refresh rate of 120Hz, which is equivalent to flagship level. The sampling rate of the touch layer is 240 Hz. The hardware platform here is a 6-nanometer MediaTek Helio G99 chipset, based on eight cores with a clock speed of up to 2.2 GHz.
The Hot 40 Pro has only one RAM configuration – 8GB. Internal memory can be either 128 GB or 256 GB. The camera uses artificial intelligence algorithms and offers a resolution of 108 megapixels in the main sensor, with an additional 2 megapixel sensor for macro photography. The front camera is built into the front panel and has a resolution of 32 megapixels.
According to Infinix, the Hot 40 Pro’s battery can be charged from 20% to 75% in 35 minutes using the 33W charger (it comes included). It is stated that the smartphone can withstand 1,600 charging cycles, that is, more than 4 years of operation every day.

The mid-range Hot 40 model shares most of the specs with the Pro version, including a 6.78-inch diagonal, a single RAM option (also 8GB), storage capacity, a 32MP front-facing camera, and 33W fast charging. Only the display is limited to 90Hz, but for some reason the Hot 40 oversamples the touch layer at 270Hz.
A couple more differences lie in the camera system and processor. The Hot 40 has a 50-megapixel sensor with f/1.6 aperture coupled with the same 2-megapixel macro camera, and inside it has a 12-nanometer MediaTek Helio G88 clocked at 2 GHz.

The Hot 40i is obviously the most affordable offering in the manufacturer’s announced lineup. The smartphone is based on the old eight-core Unisoc T606 platform from 2021, it is manufactured using a 12 nm process technology, with a maximum clock frequency of 1.6 GHz. The display is also trimmed down: 6.56 inches diagonal, HD+ resolution and 180 Hz sampling rate. Despite the maximum cheapness, the refresh rate is increased, but like the Hot 40 (90 Hz).
Storage on the Hot 40i ranges from 4GB to 8GB for RAM and 128GB to 256GB for ROM. Otherwise, the model is almost no different from the Hot 40. The main camera is also 50 megapixels, and the 32-megapixel front camera is similarly embedded in the display. Only the charging power is reduced to 18 W.
Infinix Hot 40 series smartphones will cost less than $200, promised Infinix product director Summer Yao. Depending on the region, it may be adjusted. There are four colors: golden, black, blue and green. The company will announce the start of sales and global availability later.
