Manufacturers are persistently filling the premium camera phone market with new offerings. Recent reports have revealed information about the Honor 300 Ultra model, along with initial renders that suggest it could be a significant success. A key highlight of this device will be its software technology tailored for portrait photography, likely featuring enhanced algorithms from the “Portrait Master” system that was first introduced in the Honor 200 and 200 Pro smartphones.

The source reports that the official announcement of the new line of smartphones will take place very soon. However, the exact date has not yet been disclosed. In addition to the top model Honor 300 Ultra, more budget versions will also be released: Honor 300 and Honor 300 Pro.

The base model of the new series will get a flat display, and the Pro and Ultra versions will have a curved one. At the same time, the Honor 300 has only one front camera module. At the same time, the Honor 300 Pro and Ultra will have a dual module, apparently for a better portrait mode when taking selfies.

The source reports that the new series of smartphones will receive ultrasonic fingerprint scanners instead of the optical ones that were in the previous generation. Ultrasonic solutions are considered faster and safer, but it is not yet clear whether they will be installed in Honor 300 smartphones or exclusively in the advanced versions of this series.
Ultrasound scanners can have a larger detection area and be placed in more convenient places on the smartphone display. They also do not require backlighting from the screen in the dark.

The Honor 300 Pro will feature a triple-module main camera with a distinctive design. This design bears a resemblance to the main camera layout of the Huawei Pura 70 Ultra, which currently holds the top position in the DxOMark rankings.
Adjacent to the camera module, the phrase “Portrait Master” is inscribed, indicating that Honor is likely building upon the system first introduced in the Honor 200 series.
One of the devices in the upcoming series will feature the flagship processor from the previous generation, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3. In contrast, the Honor 200 Pro was equipped with a scaled-down version of the Snapdragon 8s Gen 3, which performs 25-30% weaker in benchmark tests.
Nevertheless, due to Honor’s pricing strategy, it is improbable that the flagship Honor 300 Ultra will incorporate the Snapdragon 8 Elite chip. Doing so would significantly raise the smartphone’s price and effectively undermine its predecessor, the Honor Magic 7 Pro, which boasts a 200 MP telephoto lens.
Additionally, the Honor 300 Ultra is expected to include a TV module featuring a periscope camera, with the rectangular aperture of this module visible in the images released.
Furthermore, this Ultra model may introduce satellite communication support for the first time in the numbered series, although this feature is primarily relevant for the Chinese market. The display of the Honor 300 Ultra closely resembles that of the aforementioned Honor Magic 7 Pro. Preliminary information suggests that the panel resolution will be 1.5K, although there has yet to be any reliable confirmation.
The Honor 300 models are anticipated to be announced in the upcoming weeks, according to a source. Pre-orders have already commenced, despite the absence of an official announcement. The initial launch of the Honor 300 series smartphones will occur in China, followed by a global unveiling.
