XIAOMI INTRODUCED 300W CHARGING FOR SMARTPHONES

During the MWC 2023 exhibition, Redmi, which is a sub-brand of Xiaomi, introduced the fastest charging for smartphones with a power of 300 watts. According to the official demo on the Redmi Note 12 Discovery Edition, this charge is able to fully charge a 4,100Wh battery in just 5 minutes. At the same time, the battery replenishes 10% in 43 seconds, and 50% in 2 minutes.

According to official figures, the peak charging power of the smartphone is slightly lower than the maximum – 290 watts. At the same time, the full potential (when the threshold of 280 W is exceeded) is revealed only in the first 2 minutes of charging.

Redmi says that it has specially created its own architecture for this technology, its efficiency reaches 98%. Unlike previous developments, the components in the new product are located in a decentralized manner, which avoids concentrated heat generation and thereby increases the duration of a powerful charge. At the same time, “more than 50 means of protection” are provided in charging, apparently from overheating, short circuits and other contingencies.

In just 42 seconds, it will replenish 10% of the energy, and in 2 minutes it will recharge the battery by half - then the power will decrease

At the moment, 300-watt charging has been demonstrated only in test mode – the likelihood of its appearance in mass devices has not been announced.
