The legendary portable Audio-Technica turntable from the 80s is back

The legendary portable turntable of the 1980s has returned to the market under its historic name, the Audio-Technica AT-SB727 . The limited reissue that was released in 2022 was called AT-SB2022 and was released in a limited edition.

This year, the Japanese company has resumed regular production of the Audio-Technica AT-SB727, which also has a second name – Sound Burger . The player is a sandwich, inside of which is an aluminum platter, on which the record is placed.

An Audio-Technica AT3600L MM head is mounted on a short tonearm, also made of aluminum . The player has a belt drive and supports two speeds of rotation – 33.3 and 45 rpm , the model is also equipped with a built-in phono stage.

True, the output voltage on the 3.5 mm jack is small – only 150 mW . The turntable has a built-in rechargeable USB-C battery that lasts up to 12 hours on a full charge . To fully meet the requirements of modern users, the player is equipped with a Bluetooth adapter for connecting wireless headphones.

The Audio-Technica AT-SB727 portable turntable is available in a variety of colors and is priced at $230.
