Technics SC-C70 MK2 : This one is just awesome!

Unlike the extremely audiophile older models, the Technics SC-C70MK2 is aimed at a slightly less demanding audience, which primarily counts on the support of all new wireless technologies and puts the aesthetics of the product in one of the first places.

In this regard, Technics was at its best – the design of the device effectively balances on the verge of the classic minimalism of Japanese audio systems and the current exterior of the latest media players.

The Technics SC-C70MK2 uses five speakers: two dome tweeters with acoustic lenses, 30W woofers with acoustic louvers on the front, and one 40W subwoofer. The dimensions of the device are 450 x 143 x 280 mm, weight is about 8 kg.

The signal sources for the Technics SC-C70MK2 audio system can be CDs, DAB and FM radios, USB sticks and drives, NAS and mobile devices with AirPlay 2, DLNA and Bluetooth connectivity.

In addition, there is integration with Internet radio and streaming services Spotify and Tidal. In general, the manufacturer has provided all possible options for using the speaker system for both conservative users and the needs of the millennial generation.

To optimize the sound of the system, depending on the specific conditions of placement, it uses a proprietary DSP Space Tune. It has three fixed operating modes that can be used when the speaker is installed in the corner of a room, against a wall or in free space.

However, the Technics SC-C70MK2 also provides an automatic calibration system (using the built-in microphone and a sequence of sound test signals), which will ensure accurate DSP operation in any unusual situations.

The Technics SC-C70MK2 is equipped with analog and optical inputs, USB for portable media and Ethernet for connecting to your home network. Technics SC-C70MK2 supports all modern DLNA streaming technologies Chromecast and AirPay2, as well as popular on-line music services. Thanks to the modern DAC, the speaker can play audio in High Resolution formats.

To improve sound quality, the Technics SC-C70MK2 uses two power supplies for separate circuits, JENO jitter reduction technology (four separate processors), and LAPC to reduce phase distortion.

To control the operation of the column, you can use a proprietary mobile application. In terms of design, the system looks very stylish: the top cover is made of polished metal, and the display is integrated into the ribbed front panel. The top-loading disc tray is covered with a clear acrylic panel.
