Schiit Audio Yggdrasil Less Is More and More Is Less: Two new reference DACs

Schiit Audio Yggdrasil Less Is More

There are big changes among the products of the American company Schiit Audio. First, the manufacturer renamed its flagship Yggdrasil Analog 2 DAC to Yggdrasil OG (apparently, this stands for “original”). This respected model is still based on four 20-bit AD5791 DAC chips.

To this Schiit Audio added two new models at once. The first one, Yggdrasil Less Is More, according to the brand, sounds even better than the freshly renamed OG – at least, subjective tests led to this conclusion. The novelty works on four 16-bit TI DAC8812 DAC chips.

Schiit Audio named another addition to the portfolio in a completely different way: Yggdrasil More Is Less. There are also four chips installed here, this time a 20-bit TI DAC11001. For this model, the THD + N coefficient is stated to be no worse than -120 dB.

In this connection, Schiit stated that this Yggdrasil is “the best integrated multi-bit DAC with the best performance ever.” All three Yggdrasil models feature a distinctive U-shape with a black or silver finish and a five-year warranty.

In the US, the Schiit Audio Yggdrasil Less Is More DAC will cost $ 2,200, and the More Is Less model will cost $ 2,350. The company does not plan to stop there: according to the developers, ten variations of Yggdrasil are currently being tested at Schiit.
