Pro-Ject Audio Systems introduced the first devices for washing vinyl in 2016. These were vacuum models with a very affordable price tag. The Pro-Ject VC-E and VC-S2 Alu machines proved so popular that the manufacturer introduced a new generation of these models, which received the VC – E 2 and VC – S 3 indices .
The Pro – Ject VC-E2 and VC-S3 vinyl vacuum cleaners feature an improved cabinet design using 5mm thick aluminum composite panels, improved magnetic clamps for faster record insertion, new motors for fast and efficient cleaning, and an upgraded vacuum intake . Along with the cars, a new environmentally friendly, alcohol-free vinyl cleaner Pro-Ject Wash it 2 was introduced.
Pro – Ject Wash it 2 is a ready-to-use blend of concentrated cleaning fluid and distilled water in the optimal ratio for perfect record cleanliness, extended vacuum motor life and ease of use. The composition of the liquid ensures rapid evaporation without residue, as a result, very little waste solution will accumulate in the internal container of the machine. Pro-Ject Wash it 2 is suitable for both vinyl and shellac records.
The Pro-Ject VC-E2 and VC-S3 machines are designed for the most efficient cleaning of vinyl records with a special cleaning solution followed by vacuum cleaning. As in the case of previous generations of devices, after some time there will be washing kits for 7-inch “forty-five”.
The older model VC-S3 is aimed at advanced users with large record collections. The VC-E2 is designed to be easier to fit in small spaces and for those with relatively small collections.
In the UK, Pro-Ject’s new vinyl washers will go on sale in March 2023. The lower-end Pro-Ject VC- E 2 is available for £349 , while the older Pro-Ject VC- S3 costs £499 .
