PrimaLuna EVO 300: Hybrid integrated amplifier delivering 100 watts per channel

The external difference between the PrimaLuna EVO 300 Hybrid integrated amplifier from the original version, the pure tube PrimaLuna EVO 300 , is not immediately evident: behind the protective grille of the case, there are no power amplifier stages in the second row. Only six 12AU7 wideband dual preamplifier triodes remained in place.

They are still selected according to the proprietary PTSTM “60 out of 100” principle (PTSTM – Premium Tube Selection). The final stage is built on MOSFET components that work especially well with tube circuits, providing the same soft tube sound.

The circuitry for the EVO 300 Hybrid output stage was developed by Floyd Design, a PrimaLuna division headed by Jan de Groot. They’ve been doing Mosfet (and JFET) for almost 20 years.

The EVO 300 Hybrid is ready to connect five unbalanced RCA inputs and a home theater input. Provides tape output and subwoofer outputs, and in stereo and mono options. The 6.3 mm headphone jack is located on the front panel.

The use of solid-state output stages is said to have more than tripled the output power of the EVO 300 Hybrid, delivering 100 watts per channel with 8 ohms speakers, and a 4 ohm load all 150 watts per channel.

The cost and release of the PrimaLuna EVO 300 Hybrid have not yet been announced.
