McIntosh AS125 and AS901: Universal Amplifier Stands

McIntosh has prepared two anti-vibration stands for its power amplifiers: one, AS125, is quite universal and will fit many 45.2 cm wide McIntosh amplifiers, and the second, AS901, is designed specifically for MC901 Dual Mono power amplifiers. So AS901 has the same width and height as AS125, but it is 30 cm more in depth – 75.7 cm.

Each such stand is a durable slab of solid white ash wood. The manufacturer is Symbol Audio, which received Silver Exemplary status from the US Green Furniture Council.

The slabs are assembled using face glue technology and coated with several layers of jet black stain with a top coat of catalyzed lacquer. Their thickness is 7.62 cm. Together with the legs, complemented by pads that reduce vibrations and protect the surface of the shelf from scratches, the total height of the base will be 10.3 cm.

Belonging to McIntosh products is confirmed on the end of each of the two stands with a glowing brand logo. The green backlight is powered through the power management ports (the connectors for connection are located on the rear end of each of the plates).

In the US, McIntosh stands will cost $3,000 for the AS125 and $3,500 for the AS901.
