Magnat MA 700: Integrated amplifier with built-in DAC

Magnat MA 700
Magnat MA 700

The Magnat MA 700 hybrid stereo amplifier was created with a view to beautiful sound and high power headroom. To cope with this task, the developers used both a radio tube and transistors in the circuit.

The MA 700 preamplifier is based on the “prepared” ECC 81 dual triode – according to Magnat, it won’t need to be replaced soon. The solid-state power supply is class AB and can deliver 70 watts per channel at an impedance of 4 ohms. The company also emphasized the presence of a special toroidal transformer in the power supply and circuit separation technology for more stable, clean operation of the device.

In addition to the hybrid configuration, the new amplifier is distinguished by a rather rich set of connectors for connecting sources: an input for LP-players (MM), linear 3.5 mm, optical and coaxial inputs for digital devices, HDMI ARC, a standard set of RCA for CD-player, tuner , streamer or other device. Also, the amplifier was equipped with a subwoofer output and an analog output for recording Rec Out. There is also a 6.3 mm headphone jack.

The built-in DAC supports PCM quality up to 24 bit / 192 kHz. For wireless connection, the company has provided Bluetooth 5.0 with atpX support.

The amplifier is made in the corporate design: a black matte metal case with control knobs on the front, including a massive volume control in the center. The tension of austere style is lifted by LED indicators and a round window with a lamp.

The Magnat MA 700 should appear on the European market this month at a price of 900 euros.
