LKS Audio has introduced the LKS MH-DA004 Mini, a new flagship digital-to-analog converter (DAC) featuring the ES9038pro chip. This compact unit is designed to meet the high standards of discerning audiophiles, offering all essential functions for superior sound quality. It operates in a single-chip decoding mode utilizing the ES9038pro, and is enhanced by an integrated Italian Amanero USB module, which guarantees reliable data transmission with minimal interference.
The model is offered in two configurations. The standard version features a basic USB module with an active quartz oscillator. In contrast, the upgraded USB version incorporates two highly accurate active Crystek CCHD-957 clock generators, enhancing the sound stage’s width and depth. The only distinction between the two configurations lies in the USB interface; all other specifications and functionalities remain the same.
The LKS MH-DA004Mini accommodates a diverse array of connections, including USB, I2S, optical, coaxial, AES/EBU, and Bluetooth (aptX). All input options are compatible with DSD signals, supporting DoP mode for optical and coaxial connections, as well as native mode for USB and I2S. Audio outputs include balanced XLR and unbalanced RCA, enabling compatibility with various audio systems.
Powered by two high-quality toroidal transformers, the device supports 12 linear stabilized circuits, ensuring reliability and sound clarity. The bright VFD display facilitates straightforward operation, while the remote control allows for convenient adjustments, including volume changes in 0.5 dB increments, filter selection, and display brightness.
The device boasts impressive technical specifications: a dynamic range exceeding 134 dB, distortion below 0.0002%, and stereo separation greater than 120 dB. Its dimensions are 290 × 385 × 85 mm, and it weighs 5.8 kg.
