Harman Announces Upgrade Program for JBL Synthesis Processors and Arcam Receivers

The current JBL Synthesis SDP-55 and SDP-35 AV processors will soon be replaced by the new SDP-58 and SDP-38 models. Judging by the characteristics, they will differ only in the HDMI I / O cards – in the new models the connectors will receive version 2.1, that is, support for 8K and 4K120 video.

However, unlike receiver manufacturers, Harman has provided another option for upgrading its processors besides buying new models. The company launched a program according to which only the HDMI I / O board can be replaced with the current JBL Synthesis SDP-55 and SDP-35. It will be released soon, and the replacement can be carried out through the official dealers of the brand around the world.

The company launched a similar program for Arcam models. In particular, replacement of HDMI cards is possible for the AVR10, AVR20 and AVR30 receivers, as well as for the AV40 AV processor.

The cost of the replacement procedure has not yet been announced – detailed information should appear closer to November.
