Audioengine B1 Next Gen: Enhanced Bluetooth Receiver with aptX Adaptive and Upgraded DAC

Audioengine has updated its Bluetooth receiver, the B1. The latest version, B1 Next Gen, now supports aptX Adaptive. It continues to output music signals in both digital and analog formats, as it is equipped with a built-in digital-to-analog converter.

Audioengine B1 Next Gen

The B1 Next Gen from American Audioengine serves as the updated version of the B1, which has been available since 2014. The primary enhancements are found within the device. The B1 Next Gen is equipped with Bluetooth 5.3, supporting Qualcomm’s aptX Adaptive codec. This setup allows for music streaming from any compatible Bluetooth device within a range of approximately 30 meters, free from interruptions or dropouts, regardless of obstacles.

The Bluetooth 5.3 technology, combined with aptX Adaptive, can automatically adjust the bitrate to optimize audio performance according to the current wireless conditions. The aptX Adaptive codec is specifically engineered to respond to fluctuating wireless environments, ensuring the highest audio quality while maintaining a reliable connection.

To further enhance sound quality, the B1 Next Gen incorporates an ESS-9018K2M DAC chip, replacing the previous AKM 4396, and is capable of upsampling audio to 32-bit/96 kHz.

Additionally, a USB-C port is included for easy connectivity to smartphones, tablets, or computers.
