The Japanese company Audio-Technica will release a new model of the AT-ART20 cartridge in mid-April 2022 .
The head housing is made up of three parts, each made from a different material – aluminium, titanium and plastic – in order to provide optimum damping performance. The magnetic system is built on the basis of the AT-ART9XI model , the sensitivity was increased by increasing the frame thickness by 0.6 mm.
The needle holder in the head is made of boron, a needle with a sharpening of the Line Contact type is used . The sensitivity of the model is 0.55 mV , the internal resistance is 12 Ohm , the compliance of the needle holder suspension is 1 3 x 10 -6 cm / dyne , the recommended clamping force is from 1.6 to 2.0 g. The head weighs 9 grams.
The Audio-Technica AT-ART20 will retail for 330,000 yen .
