The new Yamaha HA-L7A headphone amplifier has been designed as the perfect companion to the flagship YH-5000SE headphones. Yamaha notes that the HA-L7A is the first true headphone amplifier for audiophiles in the company’s range.

Created in response to the passions of personal audio enthusiasts, the Yamaha HA-L7A headphone amplifier is an audiophile-grade component that strives for the most accurate sound possible when listening through headphones.

“The HA-L7A is the ideal solution for amplifying Hi-Fi headphones and reproducing high-definition digital content. This amplifier features an innovative sound field correction mode and uncompromising design and construction. “The model will undoubtedly have a significant impact on the Hi-Fi headphone market ,” said Alex Sadeghian , director of consumer audio, Yamaha Corporation of America.

The Yamaha HA-L7A amplifier is implemented in a fully symmetrical push-pull concept. All circuits, including the power supply, are completely independent of ground, eliminating the influence of voltage fluctuations and external noise.

The Yamaha HA-L7A headphone amplifier is equipped with a DAC unit based on the ES9038PRO chip from ESS Technology. The new discrete clock generator uses an ultra-low phase noise quartz crystal to achieve accurate digital-to-analog conversion.

The power supply uses two toroidal power transformers with bifilar windings. One serves the preliminary amplification stage, and the second serves the output stages. This solution significantly reduces magnetic flux leakage while minimizing voltage fluctuations, which in turn improves power supply stability.

Using the same Yamaha CINEMA DSP sound field technology found in many Yamaha AV receivers, the HA-L7A’s sound field mode offers six profiles for optimal headphone sound field.
