Sony WF-1000XM4: Much more compact than its predecessor

Fixed another leaked data on headphones Sony WF-1000XM4. Before that, enthusiasts already had the opportunity to evaluate the design of the future model, but now everything is much more detailed and clear.

Full review of  Sony WF-1000XM4 coming soon!

The Sony WF-1000XM4 will replace the Sony WF-1000XM3 headphones , which at the time of their appearance were a significant achievement of ANC and TWS technologies. But the WF-1000XM3 is already two years old. This is a very long time for the rapidly developing direction of “truly wireless” headphones.

More images of the WF-1000XM4 prototype have been posted on the Walkman blog. They made it possible to recognize several important details. First of all, the new product will be much more compact than its predecessor. This applies not only to the headphones themselves, but also to their charging case. Obviously, the weight of the WF-1000XM4 will also decrease – which means that they will better hold in the ears.

The design features are also clearer. The proximity sensor is located on the underside, as are the charging contacts, and one microphone hole is on the top.

A microphone is located on the upper side of the headphone housing. The charging contacts and the in-ear sensor are on the opposite side. The outer round smooth panel is obviously a control sensor. It is possible that the novelty will be better protected from moisture and dust.

The earbuds will receive USB-C accelerated charging. It is impossible to judge about the possibility of wireless charging from the photographs, but, most likely, it will also appear in the Sony WF-1000XM4 model.
