Sony PlayStation 5 beta update unlocks 3D audio output from TV speakers

The latest update to the Sony PlayStation 5 game console has added support for the transmission of sound in the proprietary 3D format through the TV speakers. Unfortunately, for now, this update is only available to select beta users.

To activate 3D sound through the TV, you need to go to the “Sound” section in the settings, open the “Sound output” section and turn on the “3D Audio” option there. It is worth noting that the user will be able to adjust the 3D audio output to suit his room. The set-top box optimizes the signal using the built-in microphone.

As of today, the update is already available for beta users in the US, UK, Japan, Canada, Germany and France. In the future, 3D audio through TV should be available to everyone.

The update will also allow you to install an additional M.2 SSD from 250 GB to 4 TB (there is a manual with all the details on the PlayStation website ). In addition, with the new firmware, you can choose the quality for PlayStation Now: 720p or 1080p.
