Razer Huntsman V2: Analog Keyboard with Optical Switches

Razer has announced the Razer Huntsman V2 Analog keyboard, featuring analog optical switches that allow you to fully customize and program every keystroke with millimeter precision.

Analog Optical Switches and Razer combine three components: analog input, variable actuation and two-stage actuation. Analog Input simulates analog joystick travel for smoother, more precise control and maneuverability. This removes the limitations of 8-way WASD movement and provides true 360-degree motion, which is useful in controller-optimized games such as third-person games, multi-platform shooters, racing games, and vehicle simulators.

Razer Introduces Huntsman V2 Analog Keyboard with Analog Optical Switches with Two-Stage Fine Adjustment

Players can also customize the actuation point of each key to suit any style of play, from 1.5mm quick actuation for action games to 3.6mm full actuation for deep keystrokes. In addition, with two-stage actuation, a single keystroke can activate two programmed functions set at two different actuation points. Basically, it offers double the functionality per keystroke and is suitable for activating complex combos in games such as taking a grenade and throwing it with a single keystroke.

Razer’s Analog Optical Switches track how much light passes through the switch and allow the keyboard to measure how hard each key is pressed. Unlike traditional mechanical switches, they require fewer moving parts and no metal contacts, so they can withstand up to 100 million clicks.

As the latest addition to the Huntsman family, the Razer Huntsman V2 Analog includes updates based on community feedback following the release of the Huntsman Elite. The keyboard also retains the fan-favorite form factor and digital-dial multimedia keys. At the request of gamers, dual PBT keycaps have been added with a durable textured finish, as well as a standard bottom row that allows for further customization.

Razer uses a double molded plastic process to create a more durable keyboard cover compared to the traditional ABS plastic found in most other keyboards. These double PBT keys will also be available in various regional layouts. Razer also offers additional personalization with Key Upgrade Kits, PBT Keycaps, sold separately in Classic Black, Quartz Pink, Mercury White, and Razer Green.

The new Razer Huntsman V2 analog keyboard also features improved connectivity. For more versatility and convenience, the keyboard is now powered by one braided cable, while a second cable allows an optional USB 3.0 pass-through port. Users can also choose between USB Type-C or USB 3.0 Type-A via the included adapter.

The Razer Huntsman V2 Analog keyboard is priced at $ 250 in the US.
