We can safely say that Elden Ring is the biggest release of 2022 – the role-playing game has received very high ratings from journalists from specialized publications and gamers, and the total circulation currently stands at 20 million copies sold. And although not all gamers managed to go through the storyline to the end, the developers represented by FromSoftware studio today, February 28, officially announced that the project will soon receive the first story addition called Shadow of the Erdtree. The developers promise that the DLC will be quite large and exciting, but the audience will have to pay for it.
Previously, the developers have already released a major add-on for their video game, but it was completely free. True, then the add-on only slightly expanded the gameplay capabilities of the project – players got the opportunity to fight in PvP arenas over the network and nothing more. Now we are talking about a full-fledged DLC with new plot details, dialogues, tasks and more, so it is quite expected that Shadow of the Erdtree will be a paid addition. And, most surprisingly, the fans of the project were not at all upset by this news – in the comments on social networks, gamers agree that they are quite ready to pay for an interesting story.
However, fans are satisfied with this development and are quite willing to pay for the add-on if it is interesting.
Unfortunately, FromSoftware employees are not yet ready to share the details – the developers only announced that the add-on will be released on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S, but no one even reports the approximate date, price or main characters. Japanese specialists have only hinted that the next news regarding Shadow of the Erdtree will appear in the very near future, so the company will probably release a full trailer within the next month. And there is hope that the addition will be no worse than the main storyline, but simply shorter.
