Motorola announces necklace to complement VR headset

MOTOROLA INTRODUCED A 5G NECKLACE THAT ACTS AS A BRAIN FOR OTHER DEVICES
MOTOROLA INTRODUCED A 5G NECKLACE THAT ACTS AS A BRAIN FOR OTHER DEVICES

Motorola has unveiled a 5G neck strap that will pair with a VR and AR headset. According to the company, according to the idea, the “necklace” will reduce the dimensions of the virtual reality headset by transferring its main components to the neckband.

The pendant is equipped with a Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 processor, a 5000 mAh battery, a touchpad, a SIM card slot, speakers and a number of sensors, including a gyroscope and an accelerometer. This will allow the device to become the “brain” for the headset – all computing processes will take place in the pendant, transferring a ready-made picture to the glasses via a 5G connection. Motorola says it is working with carriers to connect to the mmWave 5G network.

For example, ThinkReality A3 smart glasses managed to be made small-sized by working in conjunction with a laptop or computer, but it is not practical to take them with you all the time, and with a 5G necklace it is quite reasonable. This approach allows you to make the headset a portable device.

Motorola considers corporate users to be the key audience for the new device. While there is no information about how much the accessory will cost and when it will go on sale.
